Manchester United legend Paul Scholes admits he is concerned summer signing Antony is proving to be a one-trick pony so far.
The Brazilian international proved to be an exciting young talent during his time at Ajax before sealing a big-money move to Old Trafford this summer.
Antony got off to a great start with a goal on his debut against Arsenal, while also scoring an excellent long-range striker at the weekend despite being on the losing end against Manchester City.
However, Scholes isn’t sold on Antony at this point, suggesting the 22-year-old seems a bit one-dimensional.
“Antony on the other side as well, he doesn’t run after. He appears to be a one trick pony,” Scholes said, quoted by Metro.

“He is always cutting inside and going back to the wing or shooting. You’re thinking that he needs to develop a bit. It’s still early for him, we know.”
Of course, it’s too early to write off Antony, as the young winger is still settling in at a new club and a new league, but that doesn’t mean he can’t improve just yet.
Scholes knows what it takes to be a great player for Man Utd, and it’s interesting that he picked up on this trait in Antony early on.
