Manchester United returned to European football action last night as they fell victim to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Real Sociedad.
The match was played amid a gloomy atmosphere at Old Trafford following the tragic news of the Queen’s death and the match felt flat throughout.
A notable story from the game was the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to the starting eleven, which was the superstar’s first start since Man United’s 4-0 defeat at Brentford earlier in the season. The Red Devils have won every game since then and Erik ten Hag has seen better than the Portuguese superstar starting off the bench.
Ronaldo failed to score last night and, as a result, a compilation of the 37-year-old’s misses in the match has made the rounds on social media, although the striker had a great header ruled out for offside.
The Portuguese star fired four shots on target throughout the night, none of which were on target.

But apparently he doesn’t have enough opportunities. I’m speechless to describe how overrated this guy is.pic.twitter.com/uvrEtyHKwL
