Due to the death of Queen Elizabeth, the unification fight between bitter rivals Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall for the undisputed women’s middleweight title has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 15 at London’s O2 Arena.
Originally scheduled for tomorrow (September 10), Shields vs. Marshall would also feature a three-belt junior lightweight unification matchup between female stars Mikaela Mayer and Alycia Baumgardner.
Major events across the UK have been canceled or postponed due to Monarch’s death at age 96 on Thursday and the British Boxing Board of Control decided to do the same out of respect.
Tickets for the Saturday card will remain valid for the rescheduled date.
